All About the Cocoa

Hello Friends!

All our snow from last week is gone, and my unraked leaves are staring me down. I believe tomorrow is the day to finally gather them. Isn’t yard work fun? Eye Roll

I am really not a yard work person. Mostly because I get rather squeamish when I get dirt under my nails. Honestly though, it makes my skin crawl when anything gets under my nails.

With all the cold weather though, I have really been in the mood for hot cocoa. Like it is ridiculous how much I have had lately. I even made Archer’s “Peppermint Patty” on Thanksgiving. It was great, and a big hit. It is quite strong. I may lower the dosage of alcohol next time. I have a low tolerance, and it usually makes me sleepy if I don’t drink it quickly enough.

I’ve just entered a rep search on Instagram, and writing the caption has shot my nerves. It is usually the question of “Why should we take you on?” whether rep search, or job search. I always go blank. Like the pressure to sell myself makes me go numb.

I also, just want excuses to talk about things so I can use Archer gifs. I have had it playing in the background as I do things. On a serious note, I have serious anxiety about topics like that. Maybe someday I will get it under control enough to not need help every time I am asked that question. I can’t imagine I am the only one who has that problem. I can remember my last job interview I just rambled on forever because I just felt so uncomfortable. Frequently forgetting the original question. I have interviewed a lot, and therefore I know what they want to here. Sometimes I just can’t get the right answers out.

Do you feel anxiety with rep searches, or in job interviews?

Maybe we just need a little Peppermint Patty beforehand.

Goodbye November

Here we are, almost 11 months later from my first post. A lot of that was not knowing what I wanted to do with this blog. It will firmly be about my life, book reviews, movies, show, and food. That means lots of puppy shenanigans too.

We had Thanksgiving with his side of the family this year. Next year, it was agreed that we will host. That way my Mom, and Step-Dad can come visit, and have a break from hosting it themselves. Featured is my Caramel Apple Cheesecake. Turned out pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I am really into playing with flavors, and creating unique Holiday dishes. Something apart from all the traditional ones.

So here I am, staring at all my unfinished books in my Goodreads queue. It feels like it is just eating me a live that I have four books there that I am “currently reading”. I have two and half days to get three of them finished. Can I do it? Maybe. If I am diligent about doing what I need to around the house when I should. Life is so much easier if you are consistent about putting things away right away. I really dislike having it all build up for me to have to clean over the matter of a back breaking day.

Amy (my cousin) and I are buddy reading the final novel in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. It has been a rough one, let me tell you. Not because it is a bad read, but just rough emotionally. Everything is coming together, and battles are being fought. It is the climax in the series. I have absolutely cried once, and I am only 400 pages in. It is just shy of 1,000 pages. We will definitely not be finishing it before the end of November, but I have plenty else to do that with.

Have a great Monday, Everyone! I am off to tackling my current reads!

Hello Friends,

So a little about me. I am recently married (September 2nd), have two silly, lovable puppies and work as a bank teller currently. The older one is a Dachshund/Border Collie mix and the younger is a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. 20171209_15232820171126_120223

I just adore them both. Even when Neville can’t keep water down because it drank from a bowl instead of his ferret water dispenser. He is my little chocolate fox! Luna does this adorable hop when she gets really excited. Sort of like a bunny. I just cannot handle how adorable she is!

I have always loved books, but there was a time when I almost didn’t (A story for another time).  I have two younger sisters and am a child of divorce.

I met my husband 15 years ago, but didn’t really get to know him until two years ago. There was something about him I just could not resist. Our first date was amazing and we connected instantly. I couldn’t help it, but love him.

Who couldn’t love that face! I am so lucky to have such a great partner in life. He is a world traveler and inspires me to travel the world and experience what it has to offer. Thanks for reading and checking in! Hope your weekend was a relaxing one!
